Childhood Islands

Experimental Photography

2022

I remember my childhood as I stare at these crystals. Each correpsponds to a part of the collection I hold close from a very young age. The curiosity about the realm of the natural and of the dreams is cristalized in the imaginary of my growing up, and here it gets drawn with light in this series of analog photograms.
The search for the maximum definition in their contours and the transparencies is willingful. Their cut ups draw spacio-temporal geographies that remit to long exploratory paths. The refraction of the light proposes a vertical depth of each moment where the creativity of thought as a child was against the law of gravity. The order of the photograms is random, so they can be re-organized.
