A mountain appears the same to us, just like a stone, but geological cycles are also in progress, simultaneously with organic cycles, even if we do not perceive them with the naked eye. Assuming that objects are not just the image we see in our brains, but also the process of their creation, this sound installation speculates on a geological narrative by intersecting field recordings with the morphological analysis of São Paio beach in Labruge. The contours of certain geological elements of this place are monitored and used to manipulate the soundscape, resulting in a zone of turbulence where documentary and speculation overlap, producing a third sound with which we are invited to engage. Proposing to listen to non-human entities, shifting away from an anthropocentric focus, puts us in contact with our environment and fosters an ecological empathy that invites us to reflect on how we relate to Nature and the urgency of this relationship. The sound of bells ringing from the same bell tower were recorded in 15 different places, each resulting in a different perception of the same source of sound. All this came to life in an installation where the visitor would experience space by activating the hidden speakers on the ceiling with his or her presence. Resulting in an invisible search for sound through interaction, the visitors are transported to the streets and specific time and locations where those sounds were recorded. The object of study was the noise of Botanical Garden of Lisbon.&nbsp; Automatized through computation, the values in dBs of the noise in the garden are randomly enumerated to the performer and it’s up to his/ her artistic direction to interpret this numeric information through body expression. Also through computation, the location and movement of the performer are tracked, saved and drawn, creating an alternative noise map. Each correpsponds to a part of the collection I hold close from a very young age. The curiosity about the realm of the natural and of the dreams is cristalized in the imaginary of my growing up, and here it gets drawn with light in this series of analog photograms. &nbsp;The search for the maximum definition in their contours and the transparencies is willingful. Their cut ups draw spacio-temporal geographies that remit to long exploratory paths. The refraction of the light proposes a vertical depth of each moment where the creativity of thought as a child was against the law of gravity. The order of the photograms is random, so they can be re-organized. of&nbsp;Teresa Castro, a composer, multi-instrumentalist and sound artist based in Porto. With a background in classical guitar, she intertwines lines of folk, drone, ambient and experimental music, creating a&nbsp;sonic&nbsp;lexicon entirely her own: insistent guitars, harmoniums that seem to breathe like living organisms, and subtle yet effective electronics that make the whole ritual pulse. Her voice – at times an intimate lament, at times a long held breath – becomes an instrument that guides us through spaces where time slows down and listening grows denser. Her evocative compositions exist as fragments of an inner world, inviting us to contemplate emotional landscapes emerging from abstraction, texture and tone. Each piece works as a shelter for feeling, a meditative gesture or a body dissolving into resonance. Calcutá’s first demo Love Path Again&nbsp;appeared in 2015, followed by&nbsp;Over Night&nbsp;(2017). In 2024 she released&nbsp;Feux d’Artifice, an ambient work that marked a new phase in her practice. Alongside her recorded output, she has composed for theatre – Real Dog (Solange Freitas, 2017) – and for film – Anoche Conquisté Tebas (Gabriel Azorín, 2025). As a sound artist, she has developed several installations, most recently the quadraphonic work&nbsp;“Madre Antiga”, created for the Monastery of Arouca in 2025. On stage, joined by Maria Amaro&nbsp;on double bass,&nbsp;Calcutá&nbsp;offers a dense, free-form and hypnotic performance. Voice, guitar, harmonium and electronics unravel slowly, building a shared space of attentive listening – halfway between concert, ritual and soundscape. In December 2025 she releases “Eterno Retorno”, the first single from her debut full-length Soon After Dawn, out on&nbsp;23 January 2026. With this album,&nbsp;Calcutá&nbsp;deepens her exploration of memory, cycles and liminal states between night and morning, inviting audiences into a world where songs stretch, breathe and blur into shimmering landscapes.
